The Sixtieth Annual Young Musicians Competition and Grand Prize/Scholarship Auditions will be held on January 4 & 5, 2020 at MCC Performing Arts Center. YMC Winners Luncheon will be held on Tuesday, February 11, 2020.

Additional auditions will be held on Saturday, August 10 for available seats in all of the PYS ensembles.  Download, print and complete the August Audition Application 2019 and scan and email or email a picture photo to mailto:[email protected]

Students auditioning for Youth Symphony are required to perform an excerpt as part of the audition. Excerpts are posted here.


PYS 2019-2020 audition results were emailed to the addresses provided on the audition applications. Please be sure [email protected] is checked as a good email for your inbox. Please check your spam or other folders and click as a good email. Please email Todd Betz at [email protected] for questions or verification of audition results sent. Login to your ensemble page to register by June 30, 2019.  Also check your spam folder for your fee payment receipt from PayPal and confirmation of your registration.

Congratulations to the 2019 Young Musicians Competition Grand Prize Winner, Jessica Zhang (piano), and Otranto Prize Winner, Belle Wang (violin).  They performed their concertos, accompanied by The Phoenix Symphony, at the Side-by-Side Concert on Wednesday, February 6th at 6:30 pm at Phoenix Symphony Hall.

Congratulations to all of the Junior and Senior Division Winners of the 59th Annual Young Musicians Competition held on Saturday, January 5th.  The list is posted on the Competition page.
